An Unprecedented Recovery: Jensen’s Journey with RIOT Manual Therapy

Avascular necrosis means that, for some reason, blood is no longer reaching the bone, and the bone slowly starts to die. In Jensen’s case, he had avascular necrosis of the hip. The top of his femur bone that connects to the socket of the hip was slowly eroding due to blood loss, causing pain, limping, and eventually, inability to participate in sports or walk without crutches.

When Jensen went to his first appointment at RIOT Manual Therapy, he walked in with crutches but walked out without them. Every doctor claimed that his avascular necrosis of the hip was permanent and that he would have to wait to stop growing before he could get an invasive surgery that might not even work. This is his story of healing and growth through manual therapy for chronic pain.
